Although many Native America peoples shared a variety of cultural practices, and spoke closely-related if different languages, they saw themselves as distinctive peoples, as different as Germans are from the French today. What factors do you think helped them make these distinctions, and what factors helped to eventually blur those distinctions? Your answer should take the form of a 2-3 page paper, with 1 inch margins, handed in at the beginning of class on Thursday, February 9.
